Welcome in our B&B/ holidayhouse. I’m Hilde and together with my husband Geert and our three children Vincent, Elise and Simon, we are running  ’t Hooghe Licht. I worked 30 years as a nurse on the Intensive Care and the Recovery. Since May 2018 I gave up my job  to focus completely on running our B&B/ holidayhouse. Geert is working outside the door, in the meat industry.

The B&B/ holidayhouse is a part of a long gable farm. This is my childhood home, used to be a small mixed farm. We bought the farm when we got married. After that, the renovation started in three phases: the inside of the house, the outside of the house and the B&B/holidayhouse was the last phase.  The style is contemporary rural both inside and out. We have completely done the interior decoration ourselves, without an interior designer or decorator. I think it's certainly successful: walls painted with lime paint, refurbished second-hand furniture combined with new furniture, homemade decorations combined with new curtains and cushions sewn by myself, etc. Decorating and sewing is a hobby, also gardening. The garden and terraces are also completely own design. We love atmosphere and cosiness. And hope you feel at home here.

We started in October 2016, and since then we have received many guests from all over the world, both at home and abroad. I mainly speak Dutch and English, but also a bit French and a little German. Our target groups are families and families with children, visitors to the WWI sites and cyclists. But of course everyone is welcome.

• The entire B&B can also be rented as a holiday home for a maximum of 12 people (+ 2 cots), with the same facilities.
• If you rent a room in the B&B, you can also use the fully equipped kitchen.
