St. Bernardus Prior 8 is a traditional abbey beer, brewed in the classic 'Double' style. The original recipe dates back to when we were still brewing under license for the fathers of Westvleteren.

Color
This delicious beer has a chestnut brown color with a deep, red glow and a nice round foam layer.

Local beer, brewed by our fellow villager Hans Vandeputte.

It is a top-fermented blond beer with an alcohol content of 8.2%. It is quite smooth and balanced, with a spicy touch and a pleasant hop aroma coming from multiple aroma hop varieties. It is a typical Belgian beer, in which the simplicity of the brewing process is central.

Stoute Pitte has the solid foundation of a brown beer, but the structure of a Stout. It is dark brown to black in color. This beer also contains a strong 8.0% alcohol. The aroma contains (slightly) roasted notes, coffee, chocolate, caramel, some red fruit, sugar candy and a slightly smoky touch. While the Pater Pitte Blond mainly worked around a pleasant hop aroma, the Stoute Pitte focuses on the unique combination of four types of malt. Although it was given the name 'Stout', this beer can still be considered freely accessible.
